In the summer of 1912, I accepted...

From the October 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the summer of 1912, I accepted an invitation to attend my first Christian Science church service. While my friend was extending this invitation and explaining a little about Christian Science, I was healed of constipation. Although I was grateful for this healing, I never expressed my gratitude. I simply accepted it, because it seemed the natural result of her explanation of right action.

Today, almost thirty years later, I am exceedingly grateful for this healing, for it led me to study Christian Science. There have been times when I have grown spiritually in leaps and bounds, and other times when I apparently stood still, even seeming to go backwards, losing what I had gained. When I realized that we all are in different stages of progress, and that all are expressing divine Mind; that I could not lose my understanding of divine Mind, but that there was a lesson I had to learn before going farther, then I experienced some beautiful unfoldments of the truth.

I was healed of a sprained ankle, a punctured kneecap, three broken toes, also of troubles connected with menopause, and a chronic cough. All these healings were brought about through radical reliance upon Christian Science. I was also healed of shingles in one treatment.
