Testimonies of Healing

It is with sincere gratitude to...

From the November 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with sincere gratitude to Christian Science and to the understanding practitioner who helped me to realize the truth that I wish to substantiate my wife's testimony.

I was indeed a slave to the liquor habit, and had smoked for many years. My heart overflows in loving gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy for her wonderful discovery, which she so unselfishly gave to the world, that we too might understand and demonstrate the truth as Jesus did.

Since the liquor and smoking habits have left me, I feel indeed like a new man. I am trying to take what I understand of Truth to work with me to help my brother men. "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted" (Hebrews 2:18). I am beginning to see a lessening of the drink habit in one closely associated with me, and rejoice to know that "one on God's side is a majority."
