Christian Science has been "a very present help" to me. A few months before I was born my mother took up the study of this beautiful religion, and it has been a source of comfort, being applicable to every need and problem that arises.
I am grateful to our heavenly Father for the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. Although we lived about ten miles from the nearest church, we made an effort to go each Sunday, and only occasionally did we find it necessary to remain at home. The instruction I received in the Sunday school has helped me many times in solving problems, and more and more I realize what a priceless treasure I gained through the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in preparation for Sunday school.
I have found the truths taught in this religion to be of constant help in schoolwork. At one time when preparing for a Regents' examination in typewriting, I was able to help myself through using the definition of "time" as given on page 595 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. We were to have one question which we were to be given only a few minutes to answer before turning it in and proceeding with the rest of the examination. In preparing my thought for the test I pondered the meaning of "mortal measurements; limits, in which are summed up all human acts, thoughts, beliefs, opinions, knowledge." Then I realized that in reality I could not be limited, since only human acts were subject to mortal measurements. I was so confident of my reflected ability to express accuracy that I felt not the least bit uneasy about the outcome of the examination, which I passed successfully. I am grateful for the help which I have received from Christian Science practitioners in preparing for examinations.
