Christian Science has been to me, in...

From the July 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has been to me, in the years since I began its study, something on which I could lean in time of trouble. It means more to me each day, and I am grateful for the many blessings it has brought me.

Shortly after becoming interested in Christian Science we desired to move and to dispose of our residence and other investments. We made every effort to sell our home through the usual channels and to find transportation for our household goods. We also endeavored to sell the other investments, even at a discount, but we made no progress, since there was a period of hard times in that vicinity.

A practitioner was helping me on some other matters, and during a call on her I mentioned, but with no thought of receiving any help through Science, the subject of selling the house and shipping the household goods. The practitioner explained to me the operation of God's law in all our affairs, and within a week the house was sold for cash. At the same time an advertisement appeared in the local paper offering space for household goods to be shipped to the city where we were going. Later the investments, through the work of the same practitioner, were sold for their full value. This was my first experience of the kind in Christian Science, and the results were so outstanding that they have served to inspire me many times since.
