I wish to express my gratitude for having been reared in a home where Christian Science was taught and lived, for attendance at the Christian Science Sunday School, for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for class instruction. I have had many healings in Christian Science, and my family has been greatly blessed over a period of years by its teachings and application.
Many years ago my grandmother was healed when in the last stages of tuberculosis, which was considered hereditary because many of her family had passed away with it. This healing of my grandmother occurred in the early days of Christian Science when a student of Mrs. Eddy's came to a little town near where my grandmother lived. Through the consecrated efforts of this practicing student my grandmother was healed immediately. Not only was her healing instantaneous, but never again was this dread disease ever associated with members of our family.
I myself was healed in three days of a severe case of smallpox through the ministrations of Christian Science. My mother, who took care of me, was beautifully protected during this period and did not contract the disease, even though she was with me constantly.
