Although I have expressed my heartfelt gratitude many times for the healing power of Christian Science, I have not yet done so through the medium of our periodicals.
My first healing came before I started reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I was healed after a talk with a practitioner. I had been suffering over a long period from a severe form of indigestion. I could eat only a small quantity of food at one time and often could not retain it. This condition continued for a long time in spite of material remedies, until I became thin and weak.
One morning I met a Christian Scientist, and after we had been talking for some time she told me she was a practitioner. This meant little to me, as I had no knowledge of Christian Science; but when she said she had been healed through Christian Science treatment I immediately became interested. I went to her house, and she talked to me of Christian Science for two hours while I sat drinking in the wonderful truths. I was then told that when I took my meal I could eat my food without any fear of pain or discomfort, because food had no power to harm me. So it proved, for I began to eat whatever I wished without harm, proving that the indigestion was healed.
