From the earliest time I remember I knew only pain and suffering from heart trouble and various complications. My parents, who were good Christians, lovingly did everything they could to help me through medical science. After two surgical operations I was no better. As I grew older, doctors told me that I would never be able to earn my own living and must be content always to live a very quiet life.
During this time Mother became a student of Christian Science and lovingly invited me to attend the Christian Science services with her, but I refused because of what I thought this Science to be. One day while shopping I collapsed, and when I arrived home some time later I was very much disturbed and afraid. With my consent Mother telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, and suddenly I was conscious of being free from the condition of heart trouble, which I had had from birth. This healing has been permanent.
Even after this healing I questioned Christian Science. I shall always be grateful to the practitioner, who patiently and lovingly guided and lifted my thought from the belief that I was a mortal and a sinner to the glorious truth that I was in reality the beloved and perfect child of God.
