Testimonies of Healing

In Psalms we read (75:1),"Unto thee,...

From the April 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Psalms we read (75:1), "Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare." Because God's nearness has been proved to me many times by His wondrous works, I should like to express my gratitude.

Christian Science has been a blessing to me since childhood, and for this I am truly grateful. I am especially grateful that my mother, who was a practitioner and always ready to help me, nevertheless taught me to do my own work whenever I was able. In this way I gained a great deal more understanding of Christian Science than I would have if I had relied entirely upon her.

When my mother passed on very suddenly, I was beautifully sustained and was healed almost immediately of shock, loss, and grief. Although we had been very close to one another, I had a most uplifting sense that Life is eternal, continuous, and independent of matter. I also realized that there could be no separation between my Father-Mother God and me, for I am in reality His child and forever at one with Him.
