It is with deep humility and gratitude that I give this testimony of the healing power of Christian Science.
One of the early healings for which I am most grateful was that of mental surgery. Two doctors had agreed that an operation would be necessary if the abdominal pain from which I was suffering did not subside. I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for help, and in a very short time I was free from the excruciating pain. At someone's insistance, however, I went to a doctor for a medical examination and was told: "You are very fortunate. You had an internal cyst, but it has erupted and sloughed away."
Later I was confronted with a physical condition that made me nervous and depressed, for I feared it would become malignant. I turned wholeheartedly to God and with great difficulty went to the office of a practitioner. I do not know when the physical healing took place, but my fear gradually left, and I knew that I was free. During this period of consecrated study on my part and loving help on the part of the practitioner I lost all desire for smoking and social drinking.
