"The 'divine ear' is not an auditory...

From the July 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"The 'divine ear' is not an auditory nerve. It is the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied." These words on page 7 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, have been proved to me and my family many times.

About twelve years ago we were faced with the necessity of finding a home. We wanted to buy a house rather than rent one, but we had a month-old baby, no car to drive around looking for houses, and a very small amount of cash.

For about a week I spent a good deal of the time playing and singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal. The comfort and joy I derived from these were something I have never forgotten. As I sang I noticed how often the word "home" or the thought of home occurred. I began to gain a new concept of home: not a material dwelling, but a manifestation of comfort, love, joy, and peace.
