Artists see colors unperceived by the layman. Musicians hear tones undistinguished by the ordinary listener. Skilled calculators compute rapidly correct mathematical sums reckoned slowly by other people. Inventors achieve results in unexplored realms. Humanity has benefited immeasurably by the genius of great men.
Christ Jesus was the world's greatest genius. Through spiritual vision and capacity, he provided, without processing delay, abundance of food where shortage seemed real. In place of deformed and impotent bodies, he revealed health and usefulness. Closed doors could not interfere with his movements. Where others would have sunk, he walked the waves. The elements yielded to his power, derived from God, and the tomb could not extinguish his light of life. The Master understood present spiritual realities and demonstrated these actualities. Yet he claimed no special gift, but said that those who understood his teachings could do as he did.
Christian Science has reinstated in this age the teachings of Christ Jesus. That this is true is substantiated with undeniable proof. Mary Baker Eddy was led to the discovery of this Science through divine revelation, a penetrating study of the Bible, and demonstration. This inspired woman found that matter, whether called body, things, or the universe, is the product of mortal or material mind; that spiritual understanding brings to light matter's falsity, nullifies its so-called laws, and reveals heretofore undiscerned divine verities at hand.
