THE ONE INVINCIBILITY

From the July 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Error seems very real and troublesome and tenacious sometimes. The truth appears to be shut out or trodden down, but in reality it cannot be; truth is never less than truth itself. There are no truthless areas. The truth is true, everywhere, always, because God, Truth, its source, is omnipresent. Truth never yields its invincible power to anyone or to anything.

The poet said, "Truth, crushed to earth, shall rise again." But even those meaningful words place a relative construction upon an unalterable fact. How can Truth, God, be crushed down when it is omnipotent? How can there be a downside or an upside to Truth, since it is the All-presence and only presence?

We ask, How can we free ourselves from periods during which error seems to be in a dominant position? Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 453), "Right and wrong, truth and error, will be at strife in the minds of students, until victory rests on the side of invincible truth."
