I was in my early teens when Christian Science first came into my life. At that time, I was living with an aunt who was a Christian Scientist, and I was enrolled in the Sunday School, which I attended for several years. However, after my marriage to a young man who was not a Scientist, I drifted far from its teachings.
It was not until some nineteen years ago that I again took up its study after many years of suffering from stomach trouble and gall bladder trouble, attacks of which rendered me unconscious at times and confined me to bed for days. Doctors had done all they could for me, and I was finally told my condition was beyond medical help.
I studied the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings persistently, but my healing was long in coming because, above all, I wanted to be healed. I failed to learn the essential lesson of putting God first at all times and under all circumstances.
