For many years I have been refreshed and sustained by testimonies appearing in the Journal and in the Christian Science Sentinel. We read in the Bible (Mai. 3: 10), "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
Were I to enumerate all healings and blessings experienced in our home through Christian Science, there would not be room enough to relate them in the space allowed. Migraine headaches, inflammatory rheumatism, broken bones, and seven boils which developed on my face at one time were all quickly healed through the loving help of Christian Science practitioners.
Sorrow was healed when I learned to be more grateful for God's abundant goodness each moment of the day. During this trying experience I clung to the twenty-third Psalm, and while studying Mrs. Eddy's definition of "valley," given in the Christian Science textbook (see Science and Health, p. 596), I saw that it was not necessary for me to remain in the "valley of the shadow of death" (Ps. 23:4), that I could walk through it, sustained by the Christ, Truth, and emerge again into the sunlight of peace and joy.
