"THE HIGHEST POSITION ATTAINABLE"

From the November 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THAT healers may be people of all ages and races is clearly evident from the writings of Mrs. Eddy. In Science and Health she states (p. 37): "It is possible,— yea, it is the duty and privilege of every child, man, and woman,—to follow in some degree the example of the Master by the demonstration of Truth and Love, of health and holiness. Christians claim to be his followers, but do they follow him in the way that he commanded? Hear these imperative commands: 'Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect!' 'Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature!' 'Heal the sick!'"

Today thousands of Christian Scientists are exercising this "duty and privilege." One frequently hears of pupils in the Christian Science Sunday School healing themselves and others by applying the truth they have learned in their classes. Everyone, irrespective of age, rank, color, or race, becomes-healthier and happier as he utilizes the truths which unfold during the study of the Lesson-Sermon, published in the Quarterly and read at the Sunday services in Churches of Christ, Scientist.

The sincere student of Christian Science will agree that healing is both a privilege and a duty. One becomes a healer, to some extent at least, as he applies Christian Science to everyday situations, by refuting the claims of bodily sickness or by dealing scientifically with the clashes of human personalities that sometimes arise in office and home, factory and school.
