THAT the sweeping dominion assured in the first chapter of Genesis to man as God's likeness—dominion over all the earth—is demonstrable in human experience is shown beyond question in the life and teaching of Christ Jesus. According to the Scriptural record, no condition presented to him in his public career which he considered properly his to deal with was beyond his control. Where danger, lack, disease, death, or evil in any form was involved, affecting a single individual or multitudes, he brought the needed correction without difficulty; and he declared that the works he did we should do also, and greater works, because of his own continuing progress.
Christian Science accepts his teaching in this as in all other respects. It assures every individual of his ability to follow the Master's instruction and example. This is true of the reader of this article even as he reads it. Any problem confronting him today—any problem of health, employment, supply, relationships, home, church, or anything else—is subject to his dominion as taught by Jesus. For the Master was plainly covering all these things and all human experience when he said (John 16:24), "Ask, and ye shall receive." And Paul said (II Cor. 6:2), "Behold, now is the accepted time."
Mary Baker Eddy, the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, accepts and supports this great teaching. She writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Pref., p. xi): "Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural.
