THE only genuine love is that love which proceeds from divine Principle, God. It is impartial, bestowing blessings and rewards on righteousness wherever found. It is just and fair, correcting and destroying error. Divine Principle, Love, is invariable and immutable. Its law will bless the righteous and chasten the wicked regardless of all human opinions as to what is righteous or what is evil.
Since God is Love, the real man, made in God's image and likeness, is Love's idea, forever expressing Love's qualities. He is not like the human individual, who expresses a mixture of love and hate, purity and impurity, patience and impatience. As we learn to know ourselves as we really are, the true reflection of perfect God, we shall reject all suggestions of a mortal selfhood and begin to bring to light God's beloved child.
Christ Jesus is our Exemplar, our way shower. He manifested the highest degree of love that the world has ever known. He was kind and compassionate with the honest and truly repentant heart. But he was extremely severe with the dishonest or hypocritical thought, even though it was cloaked in righteousness.
