Revelation 14:2

From the August 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Mind there is no deafened faculty.
But sometimes we build soundproof walls within
The heart—the stigma of heredity,
The scar of accident, the stain of sin.
And then we say, "The ear is deaf." The ear
Of man is unimpaired intelligence,
Perception, listening love, and neither fear
Nor age can injure it. When soundless sense
Withdraws from lonely vacuums of despair,
Injustice, muted hope, and hidden wrong,
A thousand harps of Soul will fill the air
And split the walls of silence with their song!
