As a traveler prayerfully meditated upon opportunities for spiritual growth afforded by journeying from place to place, the following lines from the Christian Science Hymnal came slowly to her thought (No. 388):
When like a stranger on our sphere
The lowly Jesus sojourned here,
Where'er he went affliction fled,
The sick were healed, the hungry fed.
The Scriptures substantiate the experience and example of the Master portrayed in the above stanza. In Matthew we read (9:35), "Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people."
