RIGHT IDEAS

From the January 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We may often find ourselves in need of something. It can be almost anything. Perhaps we ask ourselves how we can get it. Mortal mind possibly will suggest that the something we want is outside ourselves somewhere and that, if we get it, our lives will be happier and more joyful. Do we ever ask ourselves what our needs really are? All good is right here right now. What then is our need? Obviously, it is for right ideas. How are these ideas individually discovered? It must be through thought which reaches out to all-knowing Mind.

Our primary need is for an angel message, a spiritual idea. We may think we need healing or money or work or friends or things, but our true need is for the right view of creation. This view in turn manifests itself to us, if we are receptive, in ways which we shall understand. There are comforting and assuring lines in one of the hymns in the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 9),

He knows the angels that you need,
And sends them to your side,
To comfort, guard and guide.
