What freedom awaits us as we understand and demonstrate the truth of these statements made by Mrs. Eddy on page 246 of Science and Health: "The radiant sun of virtue and truth coexists with being. Manhood is its eternal noon, un-dimmed by a declining sun"!
In Christian Science man is revealed as wholly spiritual. Made in the image and likeness of God, Spirit, he is composed of spiritual elements only. Mrs. Eddy says, "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements" (ibid., p. 475). The substance of Spirit cannot age; deterioration and destruction belong only to matter. Since matter is but the subjective state of mortal mind and is not really substantial at all, Christian Science declares that there actually is nothing capable of aging and dying.
The pure and powerful graces of Spirit, constituting man's true identity, are eternal. There never was a time when intelligence, love, integrity, wisdom, and purity began to exist. These manifestations of God are eternal, and their reflection in individual man constitutes his ageless being.
