In the account of the formation of the universe, Genesis informs us (1:27), "God created man in his own image." This original and only true creation is spiritual and perfect. It is the presentation of being, which includes no error of any variety.
The Preacher obviously caught the spirit of this scientific expression of real being, for he said (Eccl. 7:29), "Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions."
In the creation of man, of our true individual selfhood, there is only spiritual uprightness and goodness. This uprightness includes necessarily moral integrity and purity. But in Christian Science we realize that it signifies much more. Man's uprightness includes complete spiritual perfection.
