The Christlike Touch

From the June 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There was a glory in the Master's work;
A power and presence glowed in all he wrought.
His healing, law, but also tender love,
The deep compassion that he felt and taught.
No strong rebuke withheld, yet as he saw
The sick, the sinners, multitudes to feed,
He never lacked the understanding heart
Nor was indifferent to the human need.

His promise was the Comforter would come.
Fulfillment ours to prove today, and where
Love guides us, we shall do the greater works,
As greater comfort permeates each prayer.
In selfless serving, all must learn each need
Awaits the blessing of humility:
That pride may fall before the heart of Love,
And glow of warmth light healing ministry.

O promised Comforter! May my love reach
The sick, the weary, those in need of much.
May I too speak perfection's law of Truth
But, added glory, have the Christlike touch.
