Having had the experience of attending a Christian Science Sunday School from early childhood, I learned to turn to God for help at all times, and I had confidence in His guidance and protection. I remember having headaches quite often when I was young and going quietly to my room, where I repeated "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. As I considered the truths of the statement, including this one, "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness," relief came immediately. I am very grateful to have been able to join The Mother Church, as well as a branch church, before reaching the Sunday School leaving age of twenty.
In each experience which I have had in demonstrating true employment, I have relied on God as man's only source of supply, and in two instances the position I desired was held for me at least two months. I was led to apply for a position one summer as a counselor at a school conducted by Christian Scientists, and there I met my husband.
A few years ago one of our children brought home a note from the school nurse saying that a sore on the child's lip seemed to be impetigo. It was requested that the child be kept at home until she had seen a doctor. She asked, "I won't have to miss school because of that, will I?"
