"Ye are my witnesses"

From the June 1966 issue of The Christian Science Journal

At the Wednesday meetings held in Christian Science churches those who have experienced the blessings of healing in Christian Science are given an opportunity to be witnesses to Truth. God declared through Isaiah, "Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord." Isa. 43:10; Should we not, then, hasten to be God's witnesses and give the evidence so necessary to accomplish the fulfillment of God's Word?

Mortal mind attempts to negate or stop this giving of evidence. It would do this hypnotically by claiming to be the individual's own consciousness, outlining itself in terms of limitation. It would argue: "I am afraid of criticism. My testimony isn't worth giving. I can't speak in public. I don't know how to phrase my testimony in an acceptable manner." We must refute these suggestions of the carnal mind and replace them with correct concepts, spiritual ideas, in order that we may be obedient to the divine summons and be God's witnesses.

Each witness who bases his testimony on love for God and man will find that this love banishes fear from his consciousness. A consciousness filled with this love refuses to recognize or give life to the lie that the man created and governed by God can criticize or even desire to criticize another.
