"An individual kingdom"

From the June 1966 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Customary belief distinguishes one's individuality by physical appearance and personal talents. Accepting this false belief, we are penalized by confining individuality to certain sets of physical features and a few mortal faculties or capabilities. We realize great freedom from these physical limitations by understanding that real individuality is God-derived and God-outlined. Christian Science reveals man as the idea of the one infinitely individual Mind, or Ego, of all real creation. The unlimited ability of man, as well as his ever-unfolding beauty, appears in his definite embodiment of infinite perfection. Immortal attributes of God are imaged forth in individual ways in each one of Mind's multitudinous ideas.

Spiritual creation is individual and distinct in form and nature. Real identity is as actual and definite to spiritual sense as the false, mortal sense of man is to the physical senses. Looking deeply into real, spiritual creation we see that the elements of man are never material but are identical with the source of maximum good, God.

Mind, God, created man and continues to characterize and nourish him with indestructible spiritual qualities, such as intelligence, vitality, poise, accuracy, health, and love. In the measure that each one of us realizes his spiritual capacities and qualities, he is able to perform his daily work with proficiency and benevolence.
