What a glorious opportunity awaits the Christian Scientist! With Mrs. Eddy's writings, which set forth the healing method of Christ Jesus in an understandable way; with the periodicals; with the opportunity for class instruction and participation in annual association meetings; and with the church organization, which stands to support us in our progress Spiritward, surely the Christian Scientist is well equipped to fulfill the prophecy, "These signs shall follow them that believe; . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." The healing efficacy of Christian Science proves beyond all question the authenticity of its teachings, based on the works of the master Christian, Christ Jesus. The world is waiting for this healing, and each individual Christian Scientist has the privilege of exemplifying it in his own daily life. As Mrs. Eddy puts it in Science and Health, "The act of healing the sick through divine Mind alone, of casting out error with Truth, shows your position as a Christian Scientist." In the opening paragraph of the first chapter in Science and Health our beloved Leader presents a concise summary of what is needful for the effective application of the healing Principle. She states, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." p. 1;
