As a child, before learning of Christian Science, I sought answers to many questions, but I found only confusion in the answers given to me in the different Sunday Schools and churches I attended. When I was at college, I went to a Christian Science church service with a friend. About a year later these lines came to me:
My prayer, some daily good to do
To Thine, for Thee.
They are from Mrs. Eddy's "Christ My Refuge" (Poems, p. 12), which had been sung as a hymn at that church service. I saw for the first time that we must have a purpose. This light and hope remained during the following years.
