When I found Christian Science, I was filled with self-importance and self-will, thinking that my way was the only way, and even when proof was presented revealing that I was wrong, I was too stubborn to accept it, becoming quite impatient, irritated, and unforgiving to those who disagreed with me. How very much I needed the correcting rod! As I studied Christian Science, I learned how important it is to profit by the lessons learned.
One of my favorite Bible passages is the account of Naaman's healing of leprosy, and I wish to relate how this healing has had its influence in my experience.
At one time an infection was manifested in one of my feet. A Christian Science practitioner was asked to help me through prayer. She requested that I study specific Bible verses together with statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and that I keep my thought pure by replacing each aggressive suggestion with the truth of man's being. It appeared that blood poisoning had developed in my foot.
