Six years ago when our son was being medically examined for school entrance, the physician explained to me that the child's tonsils would have to be removed. She gave me a note for a throat specialist who would take care of admission to the hospital.
At that time I had already been studying Christian Science a little bit, and decided to get in contact with a Christian Science practitioner. But when studying the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, I read inScience and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 494): "It is not well to imagine that Jesus demonstrated the divine power to heal only for a select number or for a limited period of time, since to all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good." The thought came to me then that I really would not need to go to a practitioner. I accepted God's justice and goodness, knowing He had not provided any suffering for His innocent children, and I threw away the note from the physician. Soon I had forgotten about this matter.
