Awake to Christ and Peace

From the December 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To awake to the reality of the Christ changes one's life. The Christ at work in consciousness cleanses thought and is an impregnable defense against the pseudo forces of evil that knock at one's mental door. The Christ opens thought to the magnitude of good.

The Christ does not include impatience, irritation, fear, domination, craftiness, or any other error. Anyone who consistently and deeply studies all references to "Christ" and its derivative forms in the Bible and in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, finds this research spiritually enlightening and vastly rewarding.

A tremendous significance surrounds the term "Christ." Mark's Gospel says of Christ Jesus, "As many as touched him were made whole." Mark 6:56; Now, just touching a person, or someone's garment, could hardly effect such an experience. It must mean much more than physical touch. How much more Mrs. Eddy indicates in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures when she writes, "Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness." Science and Health, p. 332; Contact with this true idea could not fail to heal.
