The Christ brings joy

From the May 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

God, divine Mind, the one Soul, creates the spiritual universe, including individual man, and they are therefore good. Immortal man is constituted of Mind's attributes—joy, intelligence, and so on. The perfect man knows unbounded bliss, unchanging harmony, permanent good. Spiritual sense governs him. He is conscious of no life apart from God, Spirit, good.

These spiritual truths of being are practical. Applying them, we prove that changes in human environment, events, or relationships can neither confer nor take away genuine joy. This is a fact, because joy is immutable and God-based. In actuality, we are God's complete, spiritual reflection. Any opposite suggestion of loss, deception, disease, is powerless to change the truth of being. Mrs. Eddy succinctly states in her book Science and Health: "Divine Principle is the Life of man. Man's happiness is not, therefore, at the disposal of physical sense."Science and Health, p. 304;

Vainly, mortal mind, alias the five corporeal senses, would deny the Science of Mind. This supposititious mind (the opposite of real intelligence, the divine Mind, God) perpetuates false, evil beliefs about God and His perfect creation: (1) that life, substance, and intelligence are material; (2) that man is material; (3) that man is subject to evil, harmful conditions. But the fictitious accusations of a fictitious mind are never true or lawful. And we don't have to believe them!
