The action of the Christ in treatment

From the May 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

All help comes from God. Man is always the beneficiary of God's tender care.

Generally, the more we do our own praying and giving to others, the greater our spiritual growth. Yet there are times when we all need spiritual assistance to master greater challenges. Even the intrepid leader, Moses, needed support during a crucial time in the Israelites' progress out of bondage.See Ex. 17:11, 12; We need to see the action of God's power whether we are patient or practitioner.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, describes this occasional need for assistance: "If students do not readily heal themselves, they should early call an experienced Christian Scientist to aid them. If they are unwilling to do this for themselves, they need only to know that error cannot produce this unnatural reluctance."Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 420;
