Finding out the nothingness of evil

From the December 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The world today is struggling with many problems. It is suffering the birth pangs of a developing third world as well as the inequities of our already developed world. In the face of such need, what a wonderful thing it is, then, to let the knowledge of good, God, become our basis for action. This knowledge, cherished and lived, commences to open our eyes to the true nature of the negation called evil. Gradually we see evil beginning to fade away in our lives.

The understanding and practice of good lighten weighty problems and resolve them, even helping lift burdens from heads of state. How this fact challenges us to include the world in our thoughts and prayers, and so to live for all mankind!

As we walk through our daily rounds, we are confronted almost hourly with decisions. Is this a good step to take? Is it spiritually progressive? Will it bless? Or will it lead to more problems? Will it usurp the place of good in my consciousness?
