There must have been times when Jesus was tempted to employ the world's means of defense. Oh, I'm not talking about crude swords, spears, or bows but the world's general methods of defense against failure and abandonment and hurt.
Christ Jesus must have yearned for others to understand far better than they did his relationship to God — indeed the whole relationship of man to God. He tried to explain often, but all too frequently his students or other witnesses to his healing works didn't comprehend what he was saying or doing.
