The Bible and Mrs. Eddy's book Science and Health, laid side by side, appear patently as two books. But they represent more than just words. When the divine truths, concepts, and ideas contained in these two ordained books are spiritually perceived and practiced in daily life, they liberate humanity from the slavery of materialism into the freedom of spiritual understanding. The Christian Science pastor preaches and enlightens, elevates, inspires, revitalizes, comforts, and heals.
Receptivity to our impersonal pastor and the faithful implementation of God's Word serve to continue our individual experience of Immanuel—"God with us"—known and proved by hearers and doers of God's Word through the ages. This "here and now" presence of God delivers mankind from the false claim that evil is a person, place, or thing contrary to God's allness.
