Lifting to housetop

Luke 5:19

From the October 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal

How they must have loved their friend
to lift him to a housetop.
All other means to get him through the crowds
had failed.

They must have lifted him so gently,
speaking words of comfort as they went,
and then they let him down through the tile
to Jesus' feet.

Let us lift to housetop high
all that come within the radius of our thought
needing comfort, seeking healing,
and tenderly place
them with the Christ.
