After an accident in my home, I was bothered for some time by an injured foot. While I was quickly healed of severe pain, the complete healing was longer in coming. The inspired truth from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" I had frequently affirmed—with understanding, so I thought. Nevertheless, the condition of the foot did not change.
Finally, with help through prayer from a Christian Science practitioner, I realized what had been holding me back from claiming for myself the glorious spiritual truth of man's freedom. I had been silently rehearsing the accident and reproaching myself for being so clumsy.Thus the accident was repeated over and over again in thought!
