From the September 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One way faculty, instructors, and students at any university or college can respond to this demand is through forming a Christian Science organization (CSO) on their campus. See Manual of The Mother Church, Art, XXII, Sect. 8. a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship who has given talks about Science and Health on campus, spoke with two CSO members, from the University of North Carolina, and from the University of Miami, about their recent experiences.

Joni Overton-Jung: Ellen has a very special story to share with us. She started a Christian Science organization on her campus this year—as one member. Ellen, tell us what impelled you to do this. What was your vision for a college organization?

Ellen Hammond: I wanted to bring to my campus an element that I felt was missing—an all-inclusive dialogue where students of all types of spirituality backgrounds could come together and talk.
