Interview

Bruck Haile and Brooke Ten Eyck interviewed by the Journal’s Suzanne Smedley

From the October 2025 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The effective operation and maintenance of the Christian Science Plaza in Boston, the 13.5-acre site of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and The Christian Science Publishing Society, are some of the responsibilities of the Real Estate Planning & Operations Department of The Mother Church, comanaged by Bruck Haile and Brooke Ten Eyck. While the work they do is largely behind the scenes, the fruits of their prayers and labors are clearly visible to all at the Church and in the surrounding community.

Recently, the City of Boston recognized the unique architecture of the Christian Science Plaza and its buildings by designating them as a landmark. This recognition reflects the appreciation from Boston residents for the vitality and peacefulness of the Plaza and its surrounding structures, demonstrating the love and care given to their maintenance and use.
