In the very first chapter of the Bible, we are informed that God created man in His image and likeness. And tied to this creation was a special gift—dominion.
God is quoted as saying, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:26).
This gift was not conditional; it was not selective or limited. It was conferred on the entire creation of man, “male and female” (Genesis 1:27), for all time.
