HUMAN EXPERIENCE UNDER DIVINE CONTROL

ONE'S human experience need not be a series of sometimes joyful and occasionally tragic events that "just happen," seemingly impelled by some vague, misguided element of chance, against which the individual has little, if any, defense. Some find consolation in the belief that experience, although a hard taskmaster, is somehow a conditioner for experiences yet to come.

THE SALVATION OF THE WORLD

NUMEROUS statements concerning what is termed the world can be found in the Bible and in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Many of these statements refer to the unreal and temporary universe, in which mortals think they dwell.

THE PERFECT WORK OF PATIENCE

A MAN OF SUBSTANCE

The phrase, "a man of substance," is frequently used to indicate a person who has amassed wealth, shown by an accumulation of stocks and bonds, possession of real estate or other material objects of value, and a large bank account. The phrase indicates, in other words, a mortal plus much materiality, a person subservient to the whim of chance or change and one with no assurance of happiness or comfort from his acquisitions.

CHURCH DEDICATION THROUGH ACTIVE SERVICE

" Church " is defined in part by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" as, "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle" ( p. 583 ).

"THE ONE QUESTION TO BE CONSIDERED"

" Spiritual causation is the one question to be considered, for more than all others spiritual causation relates to human progress. " This emphatic statement on page 170 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, should awaken us to recognize that in our efforts to advance to more spiritual heights, our basic need is to understand that there is but one real cause from which proceeds every true effect.
