"I AM NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFIL"

From the June 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The way of Christian Science is the way of Life. It is resurrective and fulfilling; it is not destructive. Christian Science discriminates between the spiritually substantial and real, and the materially insubstantial and unreal. Its healing works point to the allness of God and the nothingness of evil.

These works fulfill Christ Jesus' words (Matt. 5:17), "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." And they comply with the sixth commandment of the Hebrew Decalogue in its tenderest and fullest sense (Ex. 20:13), "Thou shalt not kill."

No good is destroyed in Christian Science treatment because its arguments, which deny the substantiality of evil, or matter, are based upon the demonstrable understanding that God is entirely good; that God is Life and Life is Spirit; and that Spirit is substance.
