ANNUAL MEETINGS OF THE MOTHER CHURCH

From the June 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

An Annual Meeting of The Mother Church provides Christian Scientists with fresh inspiration and renewed energy: inspiration to reach greater heights of spiritual understanding, and energy to carry on the work established so effectively by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

The Christian Scientist returns to his home with many new ideas. Some of them can be used immediately in his church work, or in business, or in the home. Then there will be a reserve of ideas and impressions that will feed the blaze of enthusiastic endeavor for months to come. These ideas strengthen his faith, enrich his understanding, and lead to further goals of accomplishment.

Spiritual sense enables one to catch what might be called an overtone of an Annual Meeting, a realization that something is going on, the purpose of which is greater than it appears to be on the surface. In fact, there is much in such a meeting that only spiritual sense can grasp, much that would be obscured without that sense.
