Testimonies of Healing

"Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. " With all my heart I am grateful for the many blessings I have received in Christian Science.

It is with a great sense of gratitude that I wish to give my testimony for the blessings I have received in Christian Science. One day I felt great irritation near the right eye.

My family and I have for many years experienced the blessings of Christian Science, its healing and protection; for which we are most grateful. About four years ago when difficulties seemed overwhelming, I yielded to a sense of distress and worry and drifted into a wretched physical condition.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science and what it has done for my husband and our little boy. After I had been to two church services to learn what Christian Science was, my husband was taken very ill with shingles in the worst form.

Many who find it hard to wait patiently for an hour or so in an automobile may be interested in our experience. We spent seven days and seven nights in our car trapped in a terrific northern blizzard with the temperature around zero.

I Have a growing desire to tell of the wonderful answer to the prayer of one who from childhood had been seeking to worship God "in spirit and in truth. " In my home in the Scottish highlands, the Bible was the book from which we read daily.

Christian Science has proved to be such a blessing to me that I feel I should be ungrateful if I did not express my gratitude for the many benefits I have reaped through the study of the Lesson-Sermons as given in the Christian Science Quarterly. From childhood I had been a great sufferer from blood trouble, and as the years passed this gradually became worse, finally developing into blood poisoning.

This testimony is prompted by sincere gratitude for the many blessing received through the revelation of the truth taught by Mary Baker Eddy in her wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and her other writings. During my early life I often longed for some explanation which would make the Bible clearer to me.

Very vivid among my childhood recollections are many experiences with sick headaches. I was probably not more than five or six years old when I had the first attack of this kind.

Christian Science came into my life over twenty-six years ago through the healing of a relative who was spending some months with us. The healing was so quick that it prompted me to borrow a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to begin reading and studying it together with the Bible.
