Testimonies of Healing

With sincere gratitude to Christian Science I should like to relate my healing. About three years ago I suffered constantly from severe hemorrhages.

I first turned to Christian Science that I might learn why so much sorrow should come into our home. Finally, after I had read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for many years, studied as best I could the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and attended services for a few weeks, a discord which had caused me much suffering for years seemed to come to a climax.

Many blessings have come to me through studying Christian Science, so that with my heart full of sincere gratitude I should like to relate two wonderful healings. Shortly before the birth of my last child, I slipped on the ice, injuring my spine and displacing an organ.

I have no words adequate to express my deep gratitude for the untiring labors of our beloved Leader in giving to the world one of the greatest blessings of the ages, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " Through this, the textbook of Christian Science, the Principle and rules of divine healing are made available to all mankind, that all may follow in the footsteps of the Master, as Mrs.

In loving recognition of what Christian Science is doing for all mankind, I give this testimony. My telephone rang one morning, and when I answered it a strange voice informed me that my daughter had drunk a glass of water in which a bichloride of mercury tablet had been dissolved.

I wish to express gratitude to God for giving to this age our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and author of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " It was through reading this textbook that I was freed from faith in the power of matter to heal, having been a slave to drugs since early childhood.

It is with a desire to help others as I have been helped, that I give my testimony. Several years ago I had an opportunity to take up the study of Christian Science, but as I thought it dealt with mere human will, I did not give it any attention at the time.

Sixteen years ago I took up the study of Christian Science for physical healing after the family physician had told me I could not be well again unless I submitted to an operation. This I would not agree to; and through the advice of friends I turned to Christian Science for help.

In gratitude for all the blessings that Christian Science has brought into my life for more than fifteen years, I wish to add my testimony to those of the thousands who have found joy and freedom through the understanding of God and man as revealed through the consecrated, loving work of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I came to Christian Science for physical healing, and after two weeks of treatment was freed from severe backaches, the aftermath of a surgical operation.

In 1926, while on a visit to Hamburg, at a time when I was very much downcast, I first heard of Christian Science. A dear friend who had been very quickly healed of serious stomach trouble gave me a few copies of Der Herold , which I read with great interest.
