Testimonies of Healing

Over fourteen years ago I went to California seeking medical help for rheumatism. For over a year I had been a great sufferer from this in my right arm.

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony of the blessings which came to my home through Christian Science about four years ago in the healing of my little son, then seven years old, of what the doctor called pneumonia in its worst form; also in the healing of grief for him and for me, as we had been left all alone about a month before this happened, with scarcely any means of material support. My boy awakened on a Thursday morning feeling ill.

Words are inadequate to express the debt of gratitude I owe for all the blessings and benefits bestowed upon me and mine by Christian Science. Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p.

With gratitude for the wonderful demonstration of the healing of our baby through Christian Science, I give this testimony with the hope that some parent may read it and come to the understanding that all things are possible with God. I was in a distant city when notified by my wife that the baby appeared to be dying.

I should like to tell of some of the blessings that have come to me through the study of the Bible and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and through treatment by Christian Science practitioners. Some of my earliest experiences were spells of sickness of various kinds, and weakness of the stomach and constipation, supposed to be inherited.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I testify to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. I can say, because of the knowledge I have gained of God through the study of Christian Science, that "I know that my redeemer liveth;" and because He lives I am learning how to live.

My first healing was of tubercular glands, in 1914. Several years previous I had undergone an operation for this trouble; but, while I am sure the surgeons did all they could for me, it was only a short time until I was again suffering from the same complaint.

It was in 1916 that I was led to Christian Science. Although from childhood I had always thought of God as Spirit, I lacked the true recognition of infinite Spirit which began to awaken me from the material dream to the real spiritual being of man.

I am very thankful for having been led to Christian Science, which I have been studying and practicing to the best of my understanding for over six years. I find in it an ever present help in time of need.

While living in Chicago in 1890 I was healed in three Christian Science treatments of a felon on the thumb, after a physician had said the first joint would have to be removed. In 1897, having moved to northern Michigan, while going through the woods I fell into an old mine pit and was injured internally.
