Testimonies of Healing

It is nearly thirty years since a very dear friend became interested in Christian Science, and so sure was she that it was the truth that she rarely passed by my house without coming in to tell me of some wonderful healings and experiences that had come to her. I was not very easily convinced, for my doctors had been so much with me and so much to me.

In June, 1922, I became the possessor of a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

Before looking into Christian Science, or giving it a fair trial, but judging from what I had heard said about it by those prejudiced against it, I ridiculed it. I am now grateful for having advanced so as to be able to discern Christian Science as the truth.

In the fall of the year 1914 I lay looking into space, weary of life, of suffering, and wondering what I could do next in the search for health and happiness. I had suffered acutely for many years from gastritis, ulcer of the stomach, and mucous colitis, following peritonitis.

I turned to Christian Science over twenty years ago for physical healing. All my life up to that time I had been afflicted with a disease of the kidneys which was said to have been inherited from my father.

After I had been instantaneously healed of a bad sore throat, I began studying Christian Science in earnest. About two weeks later I dropped a bucket of boiling water in such a way that it did not turn over, but splashed up, burning my face, right eye, and arm.

I feel the time has come for me to add my public testimony to the countless others since first Mrs. Eddy discovered the Science of Christian healing and made it demonstrable.

I am very grateful for the blessings which have come to me through the study and understanding of Christian Science. About five and a half years ago I was taken very ill and was unable to get up without assistance.

Over twenty years ago the testimony of the beautiful healing I received in Christian Science after years of complete or semi-invalidism appeared in The Christian Science Journal. Since that time I have been privileged to give many testimonies to the healing power of Truth in our Wednesday evening meetings; and now I should like again to express, through one of our periodicals, my heartfelt gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me and for all mankind.

Out of gratitude for the wonderful healing of our four months' old granddaughter of infantile paralysis, through God's omnipotent goodness and the understanding of a Christian Science practitioner, I wish to give the following testimony. My son-inlaw, who was then opposed to Christian Science, called a doctor on a Monday.
