Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science was brought to my attention more than ten years ago when some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel were given to me. I read them as one who had always sought the truth but had thus far never found anything satisfactory.

My childhood was darkened by false theological teaching. At the early age of seven I began secretly to repudiate these beliefs, and with tears besought God to show me the truth about Himself.

Gratitude for the blessings I have received in Christian Science prompts me to give this testimony. In the fall of 1925 I felt the symptoms of a severe cold, chills, and night perspiration.

It is over fourteen years since my eldest daughter, then a girl of twelve years, was given up by our physicians, some of whom were the best we could find in Chicago. Some said she would outgrow her trouble; others said she might linger for a while.

I should like to express my gratitude to God, to Mary Baker Eddy, and to our loving Christian Science practitioners for the many demonstrations we have had in our family. One instance, in particular, I should like to relate.

Since coming into Christian Science I have been healed of many discordant conditions, such as ear trouble, headache, mental troubles, constipation, tonsillitis, catarrh of the stomach, eye trouble, and many other ills. I am truly grateful to-day to be able to bear witness, in a degree, to this healing message to the world of the great love of the Father who "healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction.

About three months previous to my coming into Christian Science I became deeply interested in the Bible. I shall always be grateful to the Gideon Bible Society, which distributes Bibles in the hotels.

For nearly twenty years I have enjoyed the multitudinous blessings of Christian Science. It has been a constant unfoldment of more and more good.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me that I send this testimony. I first heard of it many years ago, when I was living in Lima, Peru, South America, where a friend who had experienced a wonderful healing told me about it, as I was drifting into a condition of semi-invalidism and continually suffering.

I give this testimony desiring to express my full gratitude to the dear practitioner who has shown me the way of Truth through Christian Science. I was in such a wretched condition that I could not do anything, not even take care of my children, who were all of a tender age.
