Testimonies of Healing

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science. My first healing occurred when I was about ten years old.

I have been healed through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I want to acknowledge through these columns to the world the most wonderful instantaneous healing of which I have ever known. In the year 1910 I was on my way to the Rocky Mountain canon in company with my son and son-in-law.

Christian Science found me in a desperate condition, ill with a prolonged attack of pleuro-pneumonia. My illness seemed the more serious because the physicians had placed me under the law of inherited tuberculosis.

When I was quite a young girl I suffered with typhoid fever, which left me mentally exhausted and extremely nervous. For three years many material remedies were tried.

I had always been a delicate child. From infancy the thought that I was not strong and could not live long was held over me.

I wish to express the great gratitude I feel for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. A little over four years ago, when I was willing to accept the teachings of Christian Science, I was healed through treatment in a short time and restored to health and usefulness.

In the spring of 1918, just to please a friend I borrowed a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had read it about half through, and thought I had caught the author's meaning, when my little girl broke her arm.

About five years ago Christian Science was introduced to me by a friend who had been healed by it. At that time I was in dire distress, mentally and physically, having been for many months tortured by a nervous breakdown.

That Christian Science does heal I am sure; and not only does it heal, but when understandingly applied it also prevents erroneous thought from manifesting itself outwardly. A statement made by a Christian Science lecturer, which is always with me, is so clear, that every case of sickness healed by Christian Science lessens somewhat the whole world's fear of death.

I have been attending the Christian Science Sunday School for twelve years, and have had many proofs of God's allness. I wish to tell of a recent healing, in the hope that it will help others.
